Progressive Claims Service Launches New Catastrophe Web Site

MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio – June 1, 2006 – Progressive Claims Service today launched a new catastrophe Web site, www.progressiveresponds.com, to provide consumers with information about how to stay safe and protect their vehicles and boats before, during and after a catastrophic event. The site will permanently display claims reporting information, safety tips, information about the claims process and Progressive’s National Catastrophe Team, and other catastrophe-related information. When a catastrophe affecting one or more states happens, the site will be quickly populated with up-to-date information and resources for customers and others in the affected areas, including news releases and other insurance-related updates.

The new site will also feature mobile resources, including downloadable audio and text files and RSS feeds, that deliver the latest catastrophe news and updates to interested consumers as soon as it’s added to the site. During an active catastrophe, the site will be prominently linked from all Progressive Web sites, including progressive.com, driveinsurance.com and progressivedirect.com.

“One of the things we heard from customers following last year’s devastating hurricanes is that you can’t provide too much information following a severe storm or other catastrophic event,” said Scott Snapp, catastrophe response director, Progressive. “At www.progressiveresponds.com, we can publish important information before, during or immediately after an event when consumers need it most. Over time, we’ll add new features to make sure we’re providing the most valuable, timely catastrophe information possible.”
