By making a shift towards a prevention-first strategy, our hope is to make the world so safe that one day people may not need insurance. Using proprietary and award-winning technology, Onlia is rethinking the way Canadians approach safety and insurance.

What makes us an InsurTech:

Onlia offers Canadians a digital direct-to-consumer home and auto insurance product, whereby customers can quote and buy online with coverage beginning as early as the next business day. Changes to the policy can be made online 24/7 via the MyAccount portal. The Onlia Sense safe driving app complements the Onlia insurance product by providing incentives to drivers for achieving a high drive score. Lastly, Onlia Roadside Assistance is a digital on-demand product, available online and through the Onlia Sense app, offering 24/7 national roadside assistance services at your fingertips.

Major features & technology used:

For our digital platform we make use of Sitecore and InsuranceRight. The platform does not only host our website, but also contains the ability to personalize our insurances and the customer journeys towards buying them. Based on their online behavior and information our users provide, we can tailor the processes towards their needs and provide them with information that fits their context. It allows us to operate in short-cycles from a front-end and marketing perspective, without having to change our products in our insurance-platform constantly.

For our Auto and Home insurance, we’re working with our trusted partner Outshared providing Cynosure, an award-winning digital insurance platform from the Netherlands. The platform was built from the ground up for their P&C brand Inshared, as there was simply nothing similar on the market. Inshared has become the standard in the industry for property and casual, with 60% STP claims handling, 95% self-service level and NPS scores of +35. CynoSure, the in-house built platform, allows various modules such as ‘insurance’, ‘documents’ , ‘claims’, ‘analytics’ and ‘finance’ to be installed and switched on and off as desired. It is offered as a SaaS solution and allows Onlia to adjust the platform based on brand, customers, and out market situation. The use of the cynosure platform provides us with an all-in-one insurance solution, ensuring a transparent product offering, satisfied customers and the lowest possible costs.
