Announcing the 2019 ICTA Winners

Congratulations to the winners, runners-up, and finalists of the 2019 Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Awards! The winners, as selected by the ICTA jury, were announced on Feb. 26, 2019, at our 17th annual Technology Conference.

The organizations recognized at the ICTA awards ceremony are shown below; more information on all the nominees is available via the Nominees page. 2019 ICTA Winner & Runners-Up

This year's ICTA winner was CAA Insurance Company. CAA introduced MyPace, Canada's first “pay-as-you-drive” insurance offering with a conversion scheme to prevent overpayment. Octo Telematics provided the technology.

The first runner-up was aha insurance – a greenfield startup built around a CRM to optimize the customer's buying experience. Omni-channel support offers flexibility, while virtual broker chatbot “Igins” helps out.

The second runner-up was a tie!

Aviva Canada and Accident Support Services International collaborated on a real-time First Notice of Loss submission, automated claim setup and delivery of a message to the customer.

Nuera Insurance implemented a customer self-service system for full real-time life-cycle processing from quote to cancellation, all fully integrated with SGI CANADA using APIs and CSIO standards.

2019 People's Choice Awards

The ‘PICTA’ winner was Aviva Canada and Accident Support Services International, as above.

The first runner-up was iA Financial Group, for a faster more efficient auto quoting system utilizing third party data and a chatbot, with a simple transfer to agent chat.

At the ICTA ceremony, Insurance-Canada.ca partner Patrick Vice accepted the plaque on behalf of iA Financial Group.
