Karen Furtado, Partner, Strategy Meets Action

Karen Furtado has more than 25 years of technical and business experience in the insurance industry. While her specific areas of expertise include complex system implementations, vendor selection processes, project management, application development, outsourcing and social media strategies, her career-long focus has been on delivering high-value services addressing core issues facing insurance carriers.

Before joining SMA, Furtado was the Insurance Practice Director at Collaborative Consulting. Prior to her tenure there, she was Vice President of the Insurance Practice at CGI, where she developed, directed and supervised CGI’s insurance software services, ASP services and its core insurance Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) practice. Furtado holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College.

Stuart Rose, Global Insurance Marketing Manager, SAS

Stuart Rose began his career as an actuary and now has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining SAS, he worked for a leading global insurance company in its life and property and its casualty divisions. Rose also was responsible for marketing, product management and application development at a variety of software vendors. He has played an active role in the successful development and implementation of enterprise systems, working with insurance companies in the US, UK, Europe and South Africa. Rose graduated from Sheffield University with a BSc in mathematical studies.
