Cognition+ Empowering Sales Channel Connectivity for Canadian Mutual Insurers

London, ON (July 22, 2022) – Cognition+ has launched a next-generation solution across its client community in collaboration with Broker Management System (BMS) vendors to better enable connectivity solutions in support of the CSIO and IBAC Data Exchange Initiatives. By leveraging the power of the Application Programming Interfaces (API) within the Cognition+ Platform, utilizing translation tools and securing partnering agreements with leading BMS vendors, Cognition+ is enabling Inquiry (Policy, Billing and Claims) and Personal Lines New Business Upload on its Enterprise Insurance Platform.

These projects and agreements will pave the way for future enablement including:

  • Commercial & Farm Inquiry & New Business Upload
  • Comparative Rating
  • First Notice of Loss
  • Policy Change

Cognition+’s digital solution will fully support Brokers and Agents that utilize BMS systems, while providing direct access for Agents who do not currently leverage BMS systems.

Cognition+ has entered into agreements with six Canadian mutual insurers to deliver this capability in 2022, with many more mutual insurers expected to follow later this year.  Cognition+ is working with Canada’s leading BMS vendors on this initiative and also looking to expand to new Insurtech providers as the roll-out continues.

“While Cognition+ has been providing connectivity with BMS’s for over a decade, as we introduced our new Cognition+ Enterprise Insurance Platform, we seized on an opportunity to leverage our API’s to improve connectivity, modernize the process, and significantly reduce the costs and complexity for Sales Channel Connectivity.  Furthermore, we will continue to lead the industry by expanding connectivity and including all lines of business and transaction types.  Our business and technology partners are critical to the success of this solution and collectively, we are delivering a high-value solution to the Canadian Mutual Insurance industry and their respective brokers and agents”, stated Matthew Scott – President & CEO of Cognition+.

“Broker and Agent connectivity is fundamental to HTM’s Digital Transformation. It’s critical that our Sales Partners have full access to our rates and products, policy, billing and claims information, and the ability to transact business with us in the most efficient manner. We have been waiting for a simple and cost effective solution for over a decade now; one that provides our brokers and agents with a seamless experience — and we’re getting it! The beauty of us implementing the Cognition+ solution is that it provides all of these abilities through our Sales Partners’ own broker management system.  We’re excited that the initial project will provide Inquiry and Personal Lines New Business Upload, but even more excited that the technology will allow us to chart a path for even more interactions with our Sales Partners, removing the need for duplicate entry which helps reduce costs and service response times, while improving accuracy.  Enhancing connectivity with our Sales Partners translates into a better service experience for the policyholder. The industry has been looking for a solution like this for quite a while now and Cognition+ has delivered.  Brokers and agents working with the mutuals who use the Cognition+ solution will see a significantly improved approach over the next year. ”, said Alec Harmer – President & CEO of HTM Insurance Company.
