Toronto, ON (Nov. 6, 2019) – CSIO is pleased to announce that Northbridge Insurance is the first large commercial insurer to achieve a Certification of Compliance. This certification recognizes insurers that exclusively use standardized CSIO coverage codes instead of custom codes (known as Z-Codes) in their data download to brokers. CSIO congratulates Northbridge for eliminating their custom Z-Codes.
Z-Codes are not recognized by broker management system (BMS) vendors and as a result create inefficiencies for both vendors and their broker partners. By committing to using only industry codes, insurers can benefit from interoperability and provide seamless data exchange to brokers without the worry of sending bad data to the BMS.
“We’re committed to providing our brokers and customers with the best possible experience,” says Christopher Harness, CIO of Northbridge Insurance. “With seamless data exchange, we’ve eliminated a key point of friction in our transactions and have improved the ease of doing business with us.”
CSIO Certification of Compliance was launched in 2017 and is available to insurer members. There are now 22 insurers who have achieved Certification of Compliance.
“I’m delighted with Northbridge Insurance’s efforts to commit to CSIO industry standards,” says Catherine Smola, President & CEO of CSIO. “As insurers continue to make strides in improving the quality of their data, our industry can stay at the forefront of innovation, ultimately providing a better experience for customers.”
