Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) exams launch online following successful pilot
Toronto, ON (Aug. 9, 2018) – The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO), in collaboration with the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC), is transforming the exams for their Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) program to a fully digital experience. Following three successful pilot programs, the IBAO will launch online CAIB exams on December 5, 2018.
CAIB is a four-part national program designed to increase brokers’ technical knowledge and business competence in Personal & Commercial lines. The CAIB designation demonstrates a broker’s credibility as an insurance professional and is currently held by over 2,340 Ontario brokers. Online CAIB Exams will serve all 1,000+ Ontario brokers who participate in a CAIB course annually.
The broker experience has been at the forefront of every decision the IBAO and IBAC have made in this initiative. CAIB exams will be moving away from a highly manual, expensive and time-consuming process to a modern online interface that delivers a streamlined and accessible exam experience from start to finish.
“We often encourage brokers to evolve and integrate modern technology to advance their customer experience and we’re doing the same for the services we offer to them,” said IBAO CEO Colin Simpson.
Redwood Performance Group, a software development company specializing in e-Learning, built the interface that will revolutionize the way CAIB students write their exams.
The online CAIB exam project is part of a larger IBAC initiative to provide other provincial associations the opportunity to leverage the online platform the IBAO has created for brokers across Canada.
“This is an exciting and important step forward for the CAIB program. Bringing CAIB exams online will benefit every broker looking to further their broker education in Ontario and eventually across the country,” said Peter Braid, IBAC CEO.
