Don’t let a rolling stop drive up your insurance price
Toronto, ON (Nov. 15, 2013) – Aviva Canada, one of the country’s leading providers of home, auto, recreational vehicle, group and business insurance, has launched Conviction Protector, a new endorsement that can help protect drivers from paying more for their insurance. Conviction protector is designed to allow a driver to keep their 10% conviction free discount even if they experience one minor driving conviction.
Minor driving convictions can include, but are not limited to, speeding, seatbelt infractions, improper turns, failure to signal, headlight offenses, driving an unsafe vehicle and following too closely. Many Canadian drivers incorrectly believe that minor traffic violations will not affect their insurance premiums, expecting only the loss of driver demerit points or major convictions will impact them.
“We understand that even good drivers sometimes have minor traffic infractions,” commented Debora Hendrickson, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Operations Enablement for Aviva Canada. “Conviction Protector will provide added peace of mind to our customers that their premiums are protected in the event of a minor traffic violation.”
The product applies to private passenger vehicles only and is available in Ontario for as little as $30* per year. Conviction Protector will be available in other provinces in the coming months.
Brokers interested in learning more about Conviction Protector should contact their Aviva representative for more information.
