Saskatchewan Mutual, Mennonite Mutual Fire, Dominion of Canada and Portage Mutual Support Broker Identity Program for 2009: IBAC

Toronto, April and May, 2009 – The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) is pleased to announce that Saskatchewan Mutual (full Partner), Mennonite Mutual Fire (full Partner), Dominion of Canada and Portage Mutual support the Broker Identity Program in 2009.

The program’s centrepiece is the Broker’s logo. The symbol captures the value that insurance brokers bring their clients: choice, coverage, security and peace of mind. By investing in the program, Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance Company supports a campaign whose purpose is to raise awareness of the value of the insurance broker distribution network.

“SMI is pleased to continue its support of the Broker Identity Program. We have long recognized the value independent brokers contribute to the distribution of insurance products and the broker logo is a well recognized symbol of this value” said Laura Wiebe, President & CEO.

“MMFI has been providing top quality insurance services since 1917 and we share that philosophy with insurance brokers. We are proud to support them in their branding efforts”, said Earl Harder, Chief Executive Officer.

“By investing in the program, The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company supports the campaign whose purpose is to raise awareness of the value of the insurance broker distribution network” said George Cooke, President & CEO of The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company.

“Our network includes more than 500 insurance brokers who adhere to the philosophy of the company that doing business with integrity never goes out of style, and we are pleased to support them” said Randy Clark, President and CEO of Portage Mutual.

IBAC Chief Executive Officer Dan Danyluk added his appreciation that these Insurance Companies, like insurance brokers, are committed to providing peace of mind and brand excellence to consumers, and are valuable partners to their brokers.

Launched 21 years ago, the mission of the Broker Identity Program is to promote the value and professionalism of the insurance broker to consumers, insurers and governments. It is a branding campaign for over 33,000 insurance brokers.
