From Doug

We have arrived home from Nepal and Bhutan – countries which are developing quickly, becoming much more urban, and rapidly adopting modern communications and transportation.

In Kathmandu, a highlight was a visit to old Durbar Square, a UNESCO Heritage site and a hive of activity, both tourist and local – despite being still in the early stages of restoration from the earthquake a few years ago.

Our thoughts go out to those suffering after the terrible events in Las Vegas, which filled the TV news even on the other side of the world.

We think of the challenges we have in Canada, including rapid changes in insurance and business, but they certainly pale in comparison to the issues many others face.

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
