From Doug

Our first dusting of snow arrived in Toronto overnight – the weather prediction was correct. How dramatically forecasting has improved in the last few years. With social networking overlaid, we are constantly informed.

Insurance is taking advantage, with innovative insurance products being delivered in creative ways using Big Data and the Internet of Things. All the while, those providing services – for example, municipalities – face increasing standards of performance enforced by regulations, thereby creating bigger liabilities. Insurance opportunities increase, and climate change will bring still more.

Will there be ICTA nominations in this space? We shall see. Submit your nomination by the December 2 deadline, one week from Friday.
