Telematics in Canadian Auto Insurance, February – March, 2013
Telematics, or the use of telecommunications to transmit information about vehicle usage, is gaining traction in regions around the world, including the US, the UK, Europe, and South Africa. The conversations about Telematics in these areas are now focusing on expansion rather than implementation. It is certainly a topic front and centre in Canadian insurance circles as well.
The first day of the 2013 Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Conference will include a half-day “Telematics Boot Camp” to provide a deep dive into the use of telematics for automobile insurance. It will feature panels of experts who will address questions about the potential and outlook for the use of telematics in Canada.
We are asking for your help to get a cross-section of the industry’s understanding of telematics and its potential role in the Canadian insurance community. We’re also looking for specific questions to pose to the expert panel. You don’t need any experience with telematics.
Our nine-question survey should take no more than five minutes of your time, and we thank you in advance for contributing your thoughts.
