From Doug

I hope you enjoyed Thanksgiving and really thought about it.

We in Canada have lots to be thankful for:
• Peace: We are not involved directly in any war.
• Food: We have a consistent supply, and fresh all year round.
• People are more important than cars: Cities are recognizing that, and acting.
• Reconciliation: This sentiment captures the essence – European history books recall the “discovery” of America, but to indigenous peoples, it was an “invasion.” Parallels can be brawn to others who have been disadvantaged

There will always be challenges. Today we face:
• Climate change;
• War and the rise of authoritarianism;
• Overstretched health care and services;
• Inequality.

Consider that society can be improved when we collectively rise to a common challenge. What challenge are you taking on?
