From Doug

Early in my career with a technology vendor, I always kept watch for potential innovations. Initially, the focus was in the computer room, with new, bigger, faster storage devices, etc.

The next wave was a transition from centralized data entry to online in the business departments. New technology enabled that move, but the business innovation was online inquiry – faster, better, less paper.

Innovation in communications technologies expanded the reach of applications beyond the business to brokers, other partners, and eventually to end customers, resulting in the connected world we have today.

Innovation across that whole spectrum continues with improvements in underlying technologies, in processes, and in the user interface – all making the customer (and employee) experience better.

The InsurTech influence has triggered faster innovation, and a broader reach – as evidenced in the InsurTech Spotlight. Think about the new products, marketplaces, embedded insurance, on-demand, etc.

Today's webinar with OneSpan, “How to Bring the Human Connection to Digital Insurance,” illustrates the ongoing improvements – one example being this marriage of digital signatures and virtual meeting technologies.
