From Doug

A collision between my bicycle and a car on August 28 precipitated a week in the hospital with broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and assorted bruises, swellings, and scrapes.

Broken ribs involve a long and painful recovery of at least six weeks. One week in, I am making steady but slow improvement.

Universal health care removed a ton of worries: no-one asked for any money or payment until I purchased some drugs and equipment on my return home.

Although anyone can make a bad decision in an instant and suffer the consequences, in many cases insurance can be there to help.

And on the decision-making side, I think of how the InsurTech culture of agile development and ideation, customer-focused collaboration, technology improvement, etc., is helping the insurance industry make better and faster decisions, from product development to claims settlement.
