What makes us an InsurTech:

Player’s Health through its own proprietary technology provides a Circle of Care that is built to provide safety and protection for athletes. Using technology our services and solutions are built to walk alongside each and every athlete with accessibility that is in the palm of their hand. The Circle of Care operates on a mobile and web enabled, incident and injury reporting and management platform. This platform allows us to collect, aggregate, analyze information and generate the insights required to create a safer sporting experience and environment for athletes.

By combining technology, data collection with sector knowledge and experience in insurance, sports and risk management Player’s Health has established a new service category to the Sport & Recreation sector. No other organization, start up or mature, provides an integrated risk and insurance solution to: i) insurance organizations and ii) sport and recreation organizations.

Major features & technology used:

Player’s Health embraces the concept of “Insurance as a Service”. The days of “Insurance as a Product” are over. Insurance buyers today expect more from their insurance provider than just renewal terms and a cup of coffee. Todays insurance buyer is informed and understands that their insurance broker makes a lot of money on their insurance spend (upwards of 20 cents on a dollar of insurance). For todays insurance provider to sustain those economics the insurance buyer needs to receive value and service beyond the insurance transaction. Enter Player’s Health which utilizes technology and an omni channel distribution business model (B2B, B2B2B) to deliver its unique suite of risk services and insurance solutions to insurance buyers and insurance organizations.

About Player’s Health

Three years ago Tyrre Burks (serial entrepreneur, former college/pro football athlete, founder/CEO) and Neil Mitchell (successful Canadian insurance executive, weekend warrior, co-founder) met up at an Insurtech Conference in Chicago, called OnRamp. From that initial meeting the two started to formulate a business model that utilized technology to capture data that once aggregated could be analyzed to create information and insights on how to better: identify risk, segment risk, price risk, manage risk and ultimately insure risk within the sport and recreation sector. For the better part of two years Tyrre, Neil and their two business partners, Chris Pesigan and Ilya Pashkov, traveled across North America, the UK and parts of Europe sharing their vision and business plans to prospective: investors, insurance and sports organizations. Fast forward to today, Player’s Health now has investors, colleagues, clients and insurance organization partners in both the US and Canada with offices in Minneapolis, MN and Hamilton, Ontario.
