2022 ICTA Runners-Up

First Runner Up

Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance Company

Improving Customer Service Through Our Brokers

At Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance we are deeply connected to the network of brokers who sell our policies and represent us within their communities. Working with our key technology partners, Insurance Systems Incorporated and Hubio Technology, we’ve developed two new services to improve connectivity with our brokers. With our Policy Inquiry service, we have made key policyholder information in our systems available directly to the broker within their own Broker Management System (BMS) – allowing those offices to answer client questions with the click of a button. We are also enhancing this real-time service to include Straight Through Processing for the Habitational line of business, to quote, bind, and issue new business all in one session. By providing immediate confirmation that a policy is bound and issued, and official policy documents available the same day, we are upholding our commitment to exceptional customer service for both the broker and the policyholder.

Second Runner Up (Tie)

Gore Mutual

Advantage In The Cloud

Gore Mutual Insurance Company is one of the first P&C insurers in Canada. Ever since writing the first policy in 1839, the company has adapted to the forces that have shaped the country to protect people, businesses, and communities. In 2019, the company decided that to continue with this mission, a radical and accelerated strategy called Next Horizon was necessary to transform from a financially strong but under-performing regional insurer with outdated operating models to an agile, purpose-driven, digitally-led national insurer, with an entirely new operating model in automobile and personal lines and a highly automated and scalable national contact center. Gore Mutual streamlined process flow for brokers, decreased time to quote, and increased straight-through processing. The company added significant volume in new business each month and increased overall growth by the end of 2021, becoming one of the fastest-growing insurers in the country.
