Company embeds Yseop Narrative Charts into BI and Analytics platform
New York, NY (Oct. 17, 2016) – Information Builders, a leader in business intelligence (BI) and analytics, data integrity, and integration solutions, today announced that it has partnered with the artificial intelligence software company Yseop to bring Narrative Charts to the WebFOCUS platform. The partnership facilitates the automatic language generation and interpretation of charts, visualizations, and other BI content, enabling Information Builders’ customers to instantly understand the implications of their data.
The BI and analytics industry has evolved significantly with innovations in data visualization. However, there is a limit to how much information can be conveyed in dashboards and graphs. The combination of the WebFOCUS enterprise class BI platform and Yseop’s natural language generation (NLG) software interprets data and automatically expresses conclusions in natural language, providing contextual explanations to augment visualizations. By embedding these capabilities into its core WebFOCUS technology, Information Builders is providing its customers with an additional tool for accelerating the value of BI and analytics initiatives.
The Narrative Charts technology is highly configurable, enabling companies to set the appropriate level of analysis and detail based upon individual user personas and data requirements. For example, experienced self-service BI users can create their own WebFOCUS charts and determine the corresponding narrative accompaniment, while less technical knowledge workers can have this functionality defined for them and presented via an intuitive InfoApp. This enables companies to easily meet the information delivery needs of the entire enterprise and encourage self-service BI usage throughout the organization.
Information Builders anticipates adoption of Narrative Charts in a number of areas, among them:
- Self-Service BI: Narrative Charts are now available with InfoAssist+, Information Builders’ tool for self-service BI users who build their own visualizations and charts to obtain a deeper level of insight and easily discern the most actionable elements of their data.
- InfoApps™: Narrative Charts extends the benefits of these highly interactive, analytical apps for non-technical groups, enabling users to automatically understand the meaning of their information.
- e-Statements: Embedding Narrative Charts capabilities into Information Builders’ patented In-Document Analytics-based interactive, personalized e-statements, gives financial services firms a competitive advantage and helps improve their customer service.
“We partnered with Yseop for this natural-language initiative based on its industry-leading technology,” said Gerald Cohen, president and CEO, Information Builders. “We found its architecture synergistic with ours, allowing us to bring an integrated solution to market quickly to service both new and existing customers. We’re already working closely to develop major extensions that are specific to WebFOCUS and will greatly benefit our customers for years to come.”
“Yseop was founded with the aim of increasing efficiency by making information intuitive and accessible for all,” said John Rauscher, CEO and co-founder, Yseop. “Our partnership with Information Builders is part of achieving that goal. We’re excited at the opportunity to bring our narrative charts capabilities to their global customer base and arm to more organizations with the ability to turn data into written insights automatically.”
