New center joins United Kingdom facility in helping insurers accelerate innovation
New York, NY (Aug. 21, 2015) – Accenture has announced the launch of its second Digital Insurance Solution Center (DISC) in North America located in Chicago, joining the U.K. center that was launched in 2014. DISC is an innovation hub that showcases “art of the possible” solutions and Internet of Things devices, and allows clients to test digital insurance products and solutions through proof of concept pilots to validate offerings that can help solve for the business challenges of today and tomorrow.
DISC provides a next-generation IT architecture that features cloud-based assets and Web services, and multi-channel, telematics and data analytics capabilities. It provides an environment where clients can review and interact with prototyped solutions, benchmark successes and failures from past projects and use the learning to develop solutions that respond to the opportunities and challenges insurers face.
“DISC offers insurers a cost-efficient, low-risk way of experimenting with a wide range of technologies before deploying them to consumers, business partners or internally,” said Cindy De Armond, managing director in Accenture Property and Casualty Insurance Services and the policy services offering lead for North America. “Accenture works with insurers in a state-of-the-art environment to help them explore emerging trends, such as robotics and drones, which is crucial as insurance companies become more digital.”
Accenture works with clients in DISC locations to help them explore innovative technologies such as analytics, wearables, cloud and Internet of Things products and concepts. DISC provides an environment where insurers can access data architecture and infrastructure that is readily scalable, upgradeable, and always on. For example, the center showcases the Accenture Insights Platform, a cloud-based analytics-as-a-service solution; advanced analytics applications developed through the Accenture Analytics Applications Platform such as the claims fraud application; Accenture Duck Creek Property & Casualty insurance software as well as Accenture’s ecosystem of alliance partners that provide telematics solutions, analytics and reporting software, and other technology services.
