TEI/IET Mobility Newsletter

Montreal, QC (Jan. 16, 2015) – The big Consumer Electronics Show this year drew at least two keynote presentations by automakers. Mercedes unveiled an electric driverless concept car – pure luxury on wheels.

Ford, on the other hand, spoke about major world societal forces – megatrends – which are influencing the mobility future. These in turn influenced Ford in undertaking some 25 mobility experiments in cities around the world. These fall into three categories, one of which is creating a better customer experience.

Read more about how auto manufacturers are in essence moving even more seriously into other areas of mobility as they adapt to the changing world we live in.

Also in this issue, snippets about:

  • data based insurance, and Ford;
  • driverless prototypes and concepts;
  • a projection of 18 million driverless cars by 2035;
