Keal Technology and Wawanesa launch CSIO XML eDocs Solution

Toronto, ON (Dec. 20, 2013) – Keal Technology, a leading Canadian provider of broker management
systems (BMS), and Wawanesa Insurance have announced their Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO)
XML eDocs are now available for their broker partners. The automating of electronic documents, eDocs, from
the insurance companies via the secure CSIOnet directly into the BMS is a now available. When documents are
brought into Keal’s BMS, sigXP, they are automatically attached to the correct customer and policy. This
automated process is a big step forward from the previous method of manually receiving and scanning
documents. This process now all happens in the background automatically.

The eDoc process uses CSIO data standards to transmit over EDI attaching an XML message to this
transmission. This process implemented by Keal automatically attaches a pdf copy of any insurance company
document directly to the insured’s file in sigXP, without human intervention, and on a broker-defined schedule.
sigXP automatically creates an Activity (historical record) with each eDoc transaction for brokers to search,
report or audit against. eDocs is supported by Keal’s BMS, sigXP and Document Management System, dokXP.

“Wawanesa has listened to their brokers and has taken a big step forward in bettering the broker workflows”
said Pat Durepos, President of Keal Technology. “We applaud Wawanesa for developing this technology which
is quickly becoming an industry necessity. Keal’s hands-free method that automatically attaches each eDoc to
the client file in sigXP is saving broker’s dollars by eliminating hours of manual labour on a daily basis.
Wawanesa brokers will experience even greater results with the benefit of eDocs transmitted.”

Sheila Richardson of Hallmark Insurance Brokers Ltd. added, “Wawanesa’s eDocs flow quickly and smoothly
into our client database and have saved our two brokerages many hours of retrieving policy documents from
their website. eDocs is a great asset to our industry and to date is the most efficient and productive way of
handling client documents!” Currently, Hallmark Insurance Brokers Ltd. have two brokerages benefiting from
this process.

Wawanesa’s Chris Luby, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, says that eDocs matches
nicely with a corporate goal to “enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of delivering products and services.”
Luby goes onto to say that “brokers registering for eDocs will not receive paper copies of any policy
declarations which will assist with controlling printing and mailing cost, with any savings being passed on to our
policyholders which is one of the principles of a mutual company.”

Wawanesa joins Aviva, Intact, RSA, Economical, Gore Mutual, Wawanesa Mutual, and SGI CANADA as
companies offering eDocs to Keal clients. Additional companies will be announced shortly.
