Portage Mutual Insurance deploys eDocs technical coordinator to assist brokers

Portage la Prairie, MB (Jul. 8, 2013) – Portage Mutual has been involved with the implementation of eDocs since March 2012 and has steadily progressed from piloting with all of its BMS vendors to becoming eDocs capable with PowerBroker, SigXP, The Agency Manager, and The Brokers Workstation.

Portage has deployed an eDocs coordinator who is contacting all of its brokers to deliver high quality and personal service to make the transition as effective and efficient as possible. As a result of offering technical assistance, brokers are signing up every week for eDocs.

Brokers can now fully automate the retrieval of home and auto electronic declaration pages, eliminating the need to fax, scan, or courier such documents. The eDocs process uses daily batch downloads from Portage Mutual to update the data fields in the broker’s BMS. A digital (PDF) copy of the broker’s copy of the declaration page directly attaches to the insured’s file located in the broker’s BMS.

“We are very pleased to implement leading edge technology that can help elevate the competitiveness of the broker channel,” said Randy Owens, Portage Mutual’s Corporate Business Development Manager. “It’s a win-win, as they say, for the company/broker insurance distribution model and a service enhancement for the public.”
