Toronto (Mar. 12, 2013) – SGI CANADA and Keal Technology, a leading provider of broker management systems, have completed the development of CSIO compliant eDocs, allowing brokers to download personal lines electronic policy documents directly into Keal’s Broker Management System (BMS), sigXP. The eDocs solution is now available to SGI CANADA-Keal Technology Brokers. eDocs fully automates the process of retrieving electronic policy documents directly from SGI CANADA’s back-end system and attaching them to the appropriate client file in sigXP.
Pat Durepos, President of Keal Technology, said: “SGI CANADA-Keal brokers will save a considerable amount of time replacing manual workflows with automated eDoc downloads. In a recent survey, 80% of Keal brokers told us they would use eDocs when their carrier partners made them available. We applaud SGI CANADA for working with us to offer solutions Canadian brokers want and need to strengthen the independent broker distribution channel. We are happy to add SGI CANADA to the growing list of carrier partners offering eDocs.”
Leveraging the Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) XML standards, eDocs work in a similar manner to the CSIOnet Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) process. The CSIOnet EDI process updates unique data fields in the BMS from the insurance company system during a nightly batch download. By contrast, the new eDocs process automatically locates, retrieves and sends electronic policy documents directly into sigXP, attaching a pdf version to the client file without any human intervention, on a schedule determined by the broker. An Activity (historical record) is automatically created in sigXP with each eDocs transaction for brokers to search, report or audit against. Brokers are no longer required to gather policy documents from a carrier website, and eDocs eliminates the need for physical paper coming from an insurance company to a brokerage. eDocs is supported by Keal’s BMS, sigXP and Document Management System, dokXP.
“SGI CANADA is pleased to partner with Keal Technology to offer this new technology to brokers,” said Andrew Cartmell, President and CEO of SGI CANADA. “We have many innovative brokers across Canada looking for ways to be more effective in managing their business, and better alternatives for handling paper can make a big difference in the internal efficiencies within their offices.”
eDocs is available to all SGI CANADA companies for brokers using sigXP. SGI CANADA joins Intact and RSA as available companies offering eDocs to Keal clients.
