After 10 years of producing the premier insurance-technology event in Canada, we are making some important changes to the 2013 Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Conference (ICTC). We have our clients to thank for suggestions which have resulted in an event spanning a day and a half (March 18 & 19, 2013), organized to meet the varying needs of several attendee groups.
Core Principles Remain
Feedback from past attendees has told us that the core of the conference, which addresses key insurance-technology issues in business terms in a single day, provides significant value. Moreover, we have been told that while a vibrant exhibit area and networking time are important, priority should be given to quality and content of sessions, presented in a compressed time frame.
All of this has been retained. On the full day of the ICTC (March 19), we are assembling the quality faculty that our attendees expect, including practitioners, suppliers and analysts For example, we’re delighted to welcome Alister Campbell, CEO of The Guarantee, who will focus his keynote presentation on ‘Learning to Keep up with an Accelerating Pace-of-play: Technology and Innovation in Insurance.” You can find the announced presenters at the Topics and Speakers page.
One change we are making is to move from straight presentations to more panel formats, allow for greater interaction among the presenters and with attendees. This was based on our attendees’ input.
New Innovations to Enhance Value
We have heard from attendees that some topics need a deeper dive to allow for a view of the strategies and tactics that leading organizations are employing in emerging areas. We’ve recruited subject matter experts to develop ‘Boot Camps’ addressing two hot topics – Telematics/Usage-Based Insurance, and Social Media – in the afternoon of the first day of the ICTC.
On the first day, we will also announce the winners of the coveted Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Awards (ICTAs) at an Awards Ceremony, which will be followed by an opening reception in the exhibit area.
Registration and Venue
We have several registration options, allowing you to attend the portions of the program meeting your interests and needs. Of course, the best value is a full conference registration.
We are returning to the Sheraton Centre Hotel (Toronto), which has served us well for the past 2 years. We have a block of rooms booked for a discounted rate. You are encouraged to book early to take advantage of the rate.
More Information Coming
We will be posting lots more information on the conference page over the next few weeks. We’ll be highlighting topics, speakers, and the ICTA Awards processin this space as well.
