Travelers Guarantee changes name to Travelers Insurance Company of Canada

Toronto, Ontario (June 11, 2012) – Travelers Canada announces that Travelers Guarantee Company of Canada is changing its name to Travelers Insurance Company of Canada.

“We believe this new name will continue to leverage the strength of the Travelers brand, while better reflecting our broader underwriting appetite,” says George Petropoulos, President and CEO of Travelers Canada. “Travelers Insurance Company of Canada represents the broad range of business insurance, financial and professional services and surety products that Travelers Canada offers.”

Travelers Insurance Company of Canada and St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company are the two Canadian licensed insurers known as Travelers Canada. In 2009, the two organizations combined their property, casualty and surety operations under a single management team and brand.

“Over the past three years, Travelers Canada’s management team has focused on transforming the company’s operations to meet the changing needs of our customers and broker partners,” says Kevin Smith, President, Travelers International. “Changing the name to Travelers Insurance Company of Canada is the next step in evolving the Travelers franchise in Canada.”
