New CSIO XML Standard to Automate Broker Downloads
University Park, Ill. � April 25, 2012 � Applied Systems and the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) today reaffirmed the company’s commitment to furthering standards in the Canadian insurance market with the adoption of the Centre for Studies in Insurance Operations (CSIO) eDoc XML standard, which will allow for electronic documents to be transmitted in broker downloads.
The new eDoc standard, driven by IBAO, will provide broker configuration for seamless routing and attachment, as well as custom broker workflows to provide access to all information required to service the client within the client file of the broker management system, streamlining cost efficiencies for the brokerage while improving customer service and retention.
“We applaud the leadership of IBAO in driving this important initiative, and we look forward to continuing to work with CSIO, brokers, carriers and the IBAO to ensure that the eDocs delivery effectively automates the workflows of brokers,” said Applied Systems CEO Reid French.

Applied Systems will support the CSIO XML eDoc standards in the company’s next major release of TAM®, expected in the fourth quarter of 2012. In addition, Applied Systems has already begun work with carriers on implementing the delivery of eDocs into broker systems.
