CSIO – XML eDocs Standard Released!

March 1st, 2012 – The XML eDocs Standard is now available to all CSIO members. This standard provides the ability to transmit policy documents from insurers systems directly to broker management systems (BMS) using CSIOnet. It also allows brokers to store the transmitted documents automatically in their BMS without manual intervention.

Commenting on the release of this standard, Rick Orr, President of The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) said “IBAO is pleased that the industry took a breath, stepped back and ensured that the standard is the best it can be. We are sure that Canadian insurers and vendors will embrace the standard and start building it to deliver efficiencies to both brokers and insurers.”

We encourage all insurers and broker management vendors to make this standard a development priority as the implementation of this standard will deliver workflow efficiencies for brokers.

Standard details can be found here.
