Applied Systems: Houston agency processes 1 million transactions in Artizan CSR24

Policyholders, agents embrace value of Web-based policy access

University Park, Ill. February 1, 2012 Bowen, Miclette & Britt is the first insurance agency to have its customers and staff process 1 million transactions through client self-serve portal Artizan CSR24®, underscoring the prevailing value the insurance industry sees in on-demand, online policy access and client self-service.

CSR24 is software that allows policyholders to access their policies online for coverage review, change requests, and obtaining certificates of insurance and auto IDs. The product also provides call center services to support claims and after-hours reporting of first notice of loss. CSR24 is one of the Web-based software products provided by Artizan Internet Services, a subsidiary of insurance software company Applied Systems.

The million-transaction milestone also highlights the foresight of agency principals at Bowen, Miclette & Britt, a 250-employee organization headquartered in Houston and operating eight additional locations. The agency was an early adopter of CSR24 in mid-2000, when Web-based client self-service was a new concept.

“In the years we have relied on CSR24, we have benefitted by saving time and steps, which translates into more time spent on sales and service activities that require personalized attention,” said Donna Wilson, senior vice president at Bowen, Miclette & Britt. “In addition, our account executives are aware of our clients’ needs at all times, and our clients appreciate the convenience we offer them for accessing their insurance information.”

Tim Woods, Artizan’s chief technology officer, credits the people of Bowen, Miclette & Britt for collaborating with Artizan in refining the self-service solution to integrate with the agency’s management software.

“As one of the earliest adopters of client-issued certificates via the Web, Bowen, Miclette & Britt was instrumental in making the CSR24 certificate processespecially the renewal processwhat it is today,” Woods said. “From the start, the agency understood the value of Web-based services to its clients and as a differentiator in the overall services it offers to clients.”

“We congratulate everyone at Bowen, Miclette & Britt for their longstanding commitment to client service,” said Applied Systems CEO Reid French. “Artizan remains at the forefront of on-demand policy access for insureds, and many agenciesusing a variety of agency management softwareare creating a competitive advantage in the marketplace through Artizan’s Web-based applications.”
