LONDON, ON, April 6, 2011 – In its ongoing commitment to provide group retirement and savings plan members with innovative services and tools, Great-West Life has introduced a dynamic and customizable new member home page for GRS Access, the company’s secure, transactional website.
This latest enhancement from Great-West Life Group Retirement Services allows plan members to personalize the information they see on the GRS Access home page. Members decide what information they want to display. They can get a quick picture of their investment portfolio balance, both by plan and by asset class. Additionally, they can review the types of investment options they’ve chosen and compare their investment performance over time, illustrated through charts and graphs. They can also review their investments, with access to fund reports. Other useful educational tools such as videos, calculators and articles are available to help increase plan members’ financial literacy.
“The 2010 Benefits Canada CAP Member Survey recommends that group retirement plan sponsors keep services and tools simple and easy to access, and also find ways to address the needs of specific groups such as younger employees,” says Jeff Aarssen, Great-West Life’s Vice-President, Group Retirement Services Sales & Marketing. “This interactive and user-friendly tool demonstrates Great-West Life’s commitment to helping sponsors meet these needs.”
Plan members who sign in to the GRS Access secure website can personalize their home page by moving, deleting or closing containers of information called widgets. The result is a home page that displays the information most valuable to the individual member. Depending on their plan’s offerings, plan members can continue to access other service options on the website, including the ability to print their statements at any time; to view and change the investment direction of future deposits and maturing investments; to update contact information such as addresses, phone numbers and email addresses; to make secure and confidential transactions and to view information about their current investment choices.
“This unique educational tool provides plan members with the ability to personalize the information they see when they sign in, which can help engage them in setting, monitoring and achieving their individual retirement savings goals,” Aarssen adds. “The home page’s personalization feature is easy to use, and early feedback from plan members indicates that we’ve hit the mark. They are sharing suggestions for more widgets, and we will continue to introduce new features.”
