February 15, 2011 – CINCINNATI – Ward Group®, a consulting firm specializing in the insurance industry, is conducting a comprehensive research study to evaluate underwriting and policy management practices at property-casualty insurance companies.

Sponsored by Guidewire Software®, a leading provider of flexible core systems to property-casualty insurers, the study will provide benchmarking and best practices information to help companies compare the performance of their underwriting and policy processing operation to those of their peers. The comprehensive analysis will probe the underwriting strategies used by top carriers, evaluate drivers of underwriting profitability and investigate the processing and service activities that lead to better underwriting results.

“Company leaders want information to help them streamline processes and uncover ways to improve the top line and bottom line, particularly in underwriting,” said Quin Netzel, Director of Ward Group. “The Underwriting and Policy Management study will provide valuable insight into how underwriting tactics and strategies correlate to company results and profitability.” There is no fee to participate in the survey. Participants receive a complimentary report of their individual company results compared to benchmark peers. Separate benchmarks will be provided for personal and commercial lines. Ward Group is the sole recipient of individual company results. All individual company results are confidential and will not be distributed to a third party.

The deadline to submit the completed survey is March 24, 2011. Property-casualty insurance companies interested in participating should contact Matt Ryan or call 513-746-2436.
