Progressive Car Insurance Recognized by CIO Magazine for Excellence in IT

Progressive named to CIO 100 for second straight year

MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio – June 1, 2010 – CIO magazine has once again named Progressive car insurance to the CIO 100. The CIO 100 award program, now in its 23rd year, recognizes organizations around the world for operational and strategic excellence in information technology.

Progressive was chosen for creating an infrastructure that enables it to more easily expand the products and services it offers to customers.

“We want our customers to have access to a wide range of products and services, including ones we may not develop ourselves,” said Ray Voelker, Progressive’s chief information officer. “Other companies are in similar positions. Progressive IT created a repeatable and efficient way to integrate our systems with those of other companies, so that we can offer their products to our customers, or vice versa. We’re honored that CIO magazine has recognized Progressive for this work.”
