RSA contest lets winning broker donate 300 mature trees to their community
TORONTO, ON June 15, 2009 – RSA is making it “E Z” and faster for brokers to do business while providing them with an opportunity to save paper and bring new trees to their community.
RSA’s EZ-Docs is an efficient and environmentally-friendly tool that allows brokers to receive their copies of personal insurance documents such as renewals, new business and amendments, electronically instead of on paper.
In order to create more awareness around EZ-Docs, RSA is launching a contest for brokers. As each broker signs up to use EZ-Docs, their name will be entered into a draw. The contest will close August 17, and the winner will have 300 mature trees to symbolize the number of trees RSA could save if just over half our personal insurance brokers used EZ-Docs planted in their community in the fall.
RSA will be partnering with Tree Canada, the country’s largest tree planting organization, to plant the trees in the winning community.
“These large trees will go a long way in improving the negative effects of urban life such as heat islands, carbon monoxide from cars and poor air quality in urban areas,” says Michael Rosen, Tree Canada President.
The EZ-Docs tool will help brokers to reduce storage space, increase efficiency and provide better service all while saving paper. With EZ-Docs, brokers will have the flexibility to export documents in bulk, in addition to accessing them one at a time. Customer copies of the documents will not be affected at this stage.
“If just over half personal insurance brokers switched to EZ-Docs instead of paper, each year we would save a pile of paper more than 60 stories tall,” said Shawn DeSantis, Senior Vice President RSA Broker Business. “This is the equivalent of about 300 trees.”
The decision to switch to EZ-Docs is optional but so far RSA has received positive feedback from Personal insurance brokers who have signed on to EZ-Docs, eager to reduce the amount of paper used within the industry by going electronic.
EZ-Docs is currently available to brokers across Canada with the exception of B.C. The B.C. launch of EZ-Docs will take place later in 2009 through RSA-owned CNS.
