Always on the cutting edge of technology, Desjardins Group is the first Canadian financial institution to offer leading-edge geolocation services on cell phones
Lvis (Qubec), March 18, 2009 – Starting tomorrow, anyone with an iPhone or BlackBerry will be able to locate the closest Desjardins caisse or ATM with only a few clicks on their phone. Already very accessible with some 2,764 ATMs, 1,396 caisses and service centres in more than 645 Quebec municipalities, Desjardins’ presence will now be even stronger thanks to the Site Finder application.
The free, practical and easy to use tool will be available to all Desjardins members and clients of other financial institutions who have an iPhone or BlackBerry with GPS capability and Internet access. In just a few seconds, they will be able to obtain the precise location of Desjardins caisses, ATMs and Desjardins business centres.
iPhone and BlackBerry users can use the geolocation service at no cost to find the closest point of service. Desjardins members get the double advantage of avoiding user fees at non-Desjardins ATMs.
We are very proud to once again offer our members leading-edge technological solutions completely free of charge. This new initiative demonstrates our ongoing commitment to understanding and meeting client needs, said Maureen Dubois, Vice-President of the Financial Services Division at Desjardins.
