QUEBEC CITY, Feb. 17 2009 – Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc. announces the launch of its retirement planning service, Your Interactive Virtual Guide. Designed for group pension plan members, Your Interactive Virtual Guide is an educational series of video segments with interactive elements on retirement planning. This service is available online, on Industrial Alliance’s secure website.
The segments explain to members how to follow three steps to plan their retirement and enrol in their plan. Interactive tools are integrated into the segments to guide members in the necessary decisions to make in order to reach their retirement objective. Members are helped to evaluate the amount they need to save every year, and assisted in their choice of investments. All steps may be taken online, at the member’s own pace.
The video segments present retirement planning information in a lively, user-friendly fashion. This way of presenting information, on the cutting edge of technology, is in synch with the needs of a new generation of workers and is more and more popular with the general public. “The important thing for us is to make members familiar with their plan,” said Lucie Lachance, Director of Actuarial and Marketing Services in Group Pensions. “By expanding access to information, we hope to educate a greater number of members about the importance of long-term retirement planning, and we’d like to help them make enlightened decisions.”
Pension plan administrators will find this service to be an efficient means of presenting a plan to their employees who work in distant or hard-to-reach locations, and also to new employees.
Your Interactive Virtual Guide is also offered to members who are already enrolled in their pension plan. It’s a great way for them to occasionally review their retirement savings strategy so that it follows the evolution of their personal situation.
