MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio – February 16, 2009 – Car insurance consumers now have a new source for information on road trips and the latest in car technology. A new podcast feature has been added to progressive.com’s “Articles & Blogs” section. The first podcast in Auto Tech, the section with articles on the latest car gadgets, is about how green cars were front and center at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Driving Destinations section has information drivers need to plan the perfect road trip; its first podcast, “Top Tips for Traveling with your Pet,” is all about road trips with dogs.
“We want to make progressive.com as relevant as we can for car insurance shoppers and customers,” said Progressive Web Experience Director Matt Lehman. “That means providing information not only on car insurance, but other topics that help people enjoy their cars, motorcycles or other vehicles that we insure. Visitors to progressive.com can now see new articles or blog posts every week, so adding podcasts was a natural next step in distributing this content.”
Progressive already has a podcast about storm safety tips on progressiveresponds.com, its site for customers affected by hurricanes and other storms, but this is the company’s first foray into providing podcasts of interest to a broad audience. Progressive will add additional podcasts throughout the year. To listen to, download or subscribe to the podcasts, go to progressive.com and click on Articles & Blogs (http://www.progressive.com/progressive-blogs.aspx).
