The program has been designed with the practical needs of the industry.

    Insurance Industry Director,

Centre For Financial Services, Seneca College Of Applied Arts and Technology.

With revenues in excess of $30 billion, the property and casualty insurance industry employs over 100,000 people in Canada. With a median workforce age over 40 (and higher in key occupations such as broker and adjuster) the industry faces a shortage of qualified employees. According to the insurance Bureau of Canada 25% of the workforce will be lost to retirement alone by 2017. The demand for brokers and agents remains high despite the economic conditions.

Senecas new program provides training in sales, marketing, customer service and risk management in order to write automobile and property insurance policies where positions such as brokers and agents are in high demand. As well this program provide up to 2 credits towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation from The Insurance Institute of Canada along with 1 of the 4 required credits towards the Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker designation program from the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada.
