ACE Life introduces additional resources for cancer patients to its group critical illness plan

TORONTO, May 5, 2008 – ACE Life, an operating division of the ACE Group of Companies, today announced the introduction of CAREpath’s Navigation System to be an additional feature offered by SPECTRUM, its group critical illness plan. The System is a network of cancer specialists, including world-renowned oncology physicians and highly trained oncology nurses. Additionally, the System provides individuals who have been recently diagnosed with cancer with one-on-one telephonic counseling, guidance and support through the stages of treatment.

The System is designed to help reduce the physical, emotional, and productivity impact of a cancer diagnosis by ensuring a patient’s medical and emotional needs are met in a timely and effective manner. The System is based on the most up-to-date, reliable, and evidence-based information available.

“Adding CAREpath’s Navigation System to our already robust SPECTRUM group critical illness plan will allow our clients to offer their employees a level of care that, until now, was unavailable in a critical illness product,” says Terri Mitchell, Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer, ACE Life. “As the incidence of cancer is poised to surpass all other forms of critical illness, implementing the System’s employee retention and return-to-work strategies is timely.”
