TORONTO, July 16 2007 – Surfing the web for insurance is nothing new. Discovering a quote for insurance on the web is nothing new. Even buying insurance direct online is nothing new. So it comes as a surprise to many to learn that Canada’s first online brokerage only launched recently but what’s not a surprise is its success and the attention it is already garnering.

When launched in April there were many industry experts watching. Direct insurance has been successfully sold online in a variety of provinces for a number of years but the benefits of a brokerage, including its power to pull rates from several sources have not. Still the ever cautious insurance industry was conservative in its expectations and a little skeptical of the advertising campaign which included no initial advertising through traditional mediums and focused solely online.

“Our research showed that all our marketing dollars needed to go into online initiatives and specifically search engine placement,” explains Leen Meyer (Co-Founder/Managing Partner) “We followed the numbers and data and the success was instant.”

Michelle Tremblay, CIP (Managing Director of Insurance/Principal Broker) elaborates.

“I’ve spent 12 years in the industry and I was cautiously optimistic about how quickly we would grow,” she explains “I can confidently say that we are closing double the amount of new business on a daily basis than any other brokerage I have been with. In fact, our success was so strong out the gate that we had to pull back on our marketing dollars to ensure we grew at a stable rate that allowed us to provide the customer service experience we wanted.”

According to Grant Belanger (Co-Founder/Managing Partner) customer service was a central theme for the executives involved with the launch.

“Both Leen and I have owned franchises in our previous business endeavours and for us it’s very much about making it ‘easy’ for clients. Insurance is something that everyone needs but is a pain to get with hours of operation that are far from convenient.
