WebFOCUS Advisory Council Convenes to Share Best Practices, Review Product Roadmap, and Provide Feedback, Shaping Future Releases for Leading BI Software

The council saw new mobile report functionality first-hand, shared best practices with an elite group of peers, and provided input to shape future releases of the leading business intelligence solution. The meeting resulted in a wealth of new ideas and innovations for the next version of WebFOCUS products.

Information Builders’ WebFOCUS Advisory Council is comprised of business and technology executives from more than 50 private and public organizations from around the globe, spanning many BI applications and industries. In attendance were executives from 47 organizations, including the United States Air Force, U.S. Bank, ACE Hardware, Holland America, and others. The meeting was moderated by Information Builders executives and product managers from the WebFOCUS division as well as iWay Software, the company’s enterprise integration subsidiary.

As part of the half-day gathering, customers got an in-depth look into Information Builders’ new active technologies initiative. With a sample WebFOCUS report sent to their cell phones, attendees received a first-hand demonstration of the new Active Reports functionality within WebFOCUS 7.6.1 announced during the conference. Along with portable dashboard and collaboration capabilities also announced in the release � the active technology initiative offers access to and analysis of data to everyone inside and outside of the enterprise, even when they are not connected to the Internet. By evolved the dashboard concept with Active Dashboards, WebFOCUS delivers information to mobile workers and field personnel. A complete view of users’ business is now available at a glance, with the ability to slice and dice data without being connected to the network.

The WebFOCUS Advisory Council held interactive Q&A breakout sessions and previewed new, unreleased technology in development. The feedback provided helps Information Builders shape the new technologies to support the business direction and goals of its top customers.
