CAMBRIDGE, ON, March 7 2007 – Gore Mutual Insurance Company announced today that they have launched an identity theft product designed for business owners.
Identity theft has become one of the fastest growing crimes, according to the Government of Canada. Every year, thousands of Canadians are victims of identity theft. The crime is becoming more and more popular as our personal information is easier to access due the increased storage and transfer of data electronically.
While identity theft coverage has become readily available as an endorsement on a personal basis, Gore Mutual is one of the first companies in Canada to offer this endorsement to commercial clients.
“Our goal is to provide our brokers with coverages to meet the changing needs of their clients. Working with our brokers, we have developed a unique and affordable product to provide coverage for business owners who fall victim to identity theft,” says Heidi Sevcik, Vice President, Underwriting at Gore Mutual. “To our knowledge, this is the first product available in the Canadian marketplace offering identity theft reimbursement coverage for commercial accounts.”
Gore Mutual, headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario, is Canada’s oldest property and casualty insurer. Gore Mutual distributes its products exclusively through a network of local Independent Insurance Brokers. www.goremutual.ca
