SunGard Named As A Leading Insurance Vendor by Celent

Atlanta, GA – SunGard (http://www.sungard.com) today announced that it has been named as a leading insurance vendor, according to Celents Traction Index, in the analysts most recent Insurance Software Deal Trends 2004-2005 survey. Celents Traction Index represents participating vendors level of success in the insurance sector, based on the number of deals undertaken and the types of customers represented by these deals.

SunGard was also named a leading vendor in two categories within the Life & Health segment: Business Process Management Business Rules Engines and Policy Administration. Within the P/C segment, SunGard was named a leading vendor in the Infrastructure category.

Craig Weber, author of the Celent reports, commented: These results are consistent with Celents experience of vendors active in the insurance sector. SunGards high deal count, including a large number of new customer wins, is what resulted in its high placement in the Traction Index.

Greg Webber, president of SunGards iWORKS business, added: We are very pleased to have been ranked so highly by Celent and view it as a strong indicator of the success SunGard has been seeing in the insurance sector. We believe our commitment to growth and to serving our existing customers puts us in a strong position in this space.
