The CUMIS Group appoints new president and CEO

May 26, 2006 Burlington, ON – On behalf of the board of directors of The CUMIS Group Limited, Chris Catliff, chair, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kenneth W. Lalonde as president and chief executive officer for the CUMIS Group of Companies, and venture manager of the Credit Union Insurance Services (CUIS) program, effective June 5, 2006.

Mr. Lalonde has extensive experience as an executive in the financial services industry. In his most recent role, Mr. Lalonde held the position of executive vice president of branch and small business banking at CIBC where he was responsible for more than 14,000 employees working within the bank’s 1100 branches was well as being accountable for the automated banking machine distribution channel. He was also president and chief executive officer of CIBC Insurance Company Management Ltd.

Prior to joining CIBC, Mr. Lalonde spent 10 years in the consumer packaged goods industry working with Shulton Inc. and Beecham Canada Inc. in various senior leadership roles.

Mr. Lalonde is a board director of the Toronto International Film Festival Group and is past chair and director of the advisory board for Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Kenn has also dedicated his time to a number of other charitable organizations including working with the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter and serving as cabinet industry lead for the United Way of Calgary.
