United Way communities to benefit from this years campaign
TORONTO, December 14, 2005 – It’s another record breaking year for taking care of its communities as the Aviva Canada group, one of Canada’s largest home, car and business insurers, and its generous employees raised over $394,000 for the companys 2005 United Way/Centraide campaign. The amount, an increase of more than 27% over last years donation, will support community services for 33 regional United Way organizations across the country.
Our employees passion and zeal for helping others truly makes a difference to the towns and cities in which they live, says Avivas President and CEO, Igal Mayer. I am extremely proud of their unwavering support and their ongoing contribution to the health and welfare of our Canadian communities.
United Way will receive funds from the local efforts of Aviva employees who in many cases baked up a storm, raffled prizes, and hosted silent auctions to benefit this worthy charity. A portion of employee payroll contributions was matched by a generous corporate donation from Aviva Canada.
Like the United Way, Aviva is a national organization that cares about its communities. Aviva is pleased to support this vital charitable organization, which helps one in three Canadians in need.
