The Canaccord Immigrant Investor Program team joins ranks with the Industrial Alliance Trust Inc. Immigrant Investor Program team in the wake of Leduc & Associates earlier this year

MONTREAL, Oct. 25, 2005 – The Canaccord Capital Corporation (Canaccord) Immigrant Investor Program team is pleased to announce that it is joining ranks with the Immigrant Investor Program team at Industrial Alliance Trust Inc., a subsidiary of Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc. The Canaccord team will continue to serve its clients in association with members of the Leduc and Associates Securities Inc. (Leduc) Immigrant Investor Program team that joined forces with Industrial Alliance Trust Inc. earlier this year.

Under the terms of this integration, Industrial Alliance Trust Inc. will take over all of Canaccord’s immigrant investor case files, which represent some $300 million in immigrant investor investments. Industrial Alliance Trust Inc. has also signed an agreement with Investissement Québec and Quebec’s ministry of Immigration and Cultural Communities regarding the file transfer. Industrial Alliance Trust Inc. will now act as the mandatary and financial intermediary of all immigrant investors who made investment agreements with Canaccord prior to October 11, 2005, the date the file transfer took place.

“We are very proud to be part of an organization as solid as Industrial Alliance and to be associated with a team as experienced and proficient as Leduc,” stated Jerry Rosenthal, previously of Canaccord and now Director of Operations and Business Development of the Industrial Alliance Trust Inc. Immigrant Investor Program. “This will allow us to continue offering our clients the federal and provincial immigrant investor programs as well as a multitude of insurance products and financial services from our offices in Canada and several Asian countries.”

“We are pleased that the Canaccord team is joining forces with ours,” stated Michel Leduc, previously of Leduc and now Director of Operations and Finances of the Industrial Alliance Trust Inc. Immigrant Investor Program. “This will provide added depth to our team and allow us to enhance our service offering. The Leduc team has been working with immigrant investors since 1986. We have allowed many business men and women from different countries to establish themselves in Quebec and Canada, while also favouring the development of small and medium-sized homegrown businesses.”
