TORONTO, June 1, 2005 – At the Annual Business Meeting of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association, Inc. held in Toronto today, James A. Brierley, President, Munich Reinsurance Company, Canada Branch (Life), was elected Chairman of the Association for the year ahead.
“I am very pleased and honoured to become the 100th Chairman in the CLHIA’s 111-year history to serve this outstanding industry. I look forward to working with my fellow Board and Council members to continue the Association’s lengthy track record of consensus building and constructive dialogue with regulators, policy-makers and consumers”, said Mr. Brierley.
During his term in office, Mr. Brierley will be working with a Board of Directors including: newly elected Chairman Elect, Yvon Charest, President and Chief Executive Officer, Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc.; two past Chairmen, Donald A.
