IBM PartnerWorld Beacon Award Recognizes CSC’s Exceed P&C Insurance Application
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 28, 2005 — Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that it has received the 2005 IBM PartnerWorld Beacon Award for “Best Use of IBM Technology in a Business Solution by a Global Consultant and Integrator Business Partner.” The Beacon Award acknowledges CSC’s role in helping property and casualty (P&C) insurers become more responsive, flexible and cost-efficient through its Exceed application software.
The awards are designed to recognize companies for their ingenuity, customer satisfaction and outstanding achievements in providing on-demand business solutions.
“Our relationship with CSC becomes stronger, deeper and broader each and every year,” noted Tim McChristian, IBM Computer Services Industry general manager. “Judges selected CSC for this award because of its successful delivery of a repeatable solution that helps clients reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction.”
CSC’s Exceed application software is designed to improve operational efficiencies and enhance end-user experiences in the P&C insurance industry. Exceed’s service-oriented architecture provides legacy system replacement components for policy administration, billing and collections, claims administration, client management, contracts and commissions, and work management processes. Exceed uses the IBM eServer zSeries(R) and TotalStorage(R) platforms, combined with IBM WebSphere and IBM UDB DB2 software technologies.
“Exceed clients expect their applications to be flexible and efficient, while their hardware environment remains available and scalable,” said Ray August, president of CSC’s P&C Insurance division. “With the combination of IBM and CSC’s technologies, Exceed delivers results for insurers with as few as 100,000 policies and as many as eight million policies.”
