IVANS Kicks off AgentExpress Program
OLD GREENWICH, Conn. � February 8, 2005 � IVANS Inc., the leading provider of network and e-commerce solutions for the insurance industry, is launching AgentExpress, a program to encourage agents to use broadband connections to retrieve carrier downloads.
Agents whose carriers are sending information to IVANS E-Commerce Server (ECS) can use broadband connections to retrieve files. IVANS broadband download specialists are proactively calling the more than 4,000 agents who are not yet using their broadband connections for download and are walking them through the configuration, which takes less than 10 minutes. Additionally, IVANS has sent a fact sheet to agents explaining the four steps needed to configure their agency management systems for broadband download.
IVANS plans to complete the calls by the end of February with an initial goal of enabling at least 20 percent. Other ongoing program tactics include Web conferences, e-mails and faxes.

Agents can use their existing broadband connections, regardless of service provider, to retrieve downloads. The only other requirement is Transfer Manager 2.2�, which is already integrated into more than 20 agency management systems. If agents don�t have Transfer Manager 2.2 already installed, they can obtain it from their agency vendors or by calling IVANS at 1-800-548-2675.
The industry-standard ECS Internet download solution means agents don�t need to use a modem or a one-off process to access information such as policy changes, renewals, cancellations and reinstatements from their carriers using ECS. Instead, they simply log into their agency management system and ECS retrieves the download for them. This seamless process ensures that agents� systems are in sync with carriers� systems and improves workflow, giving agents more time to service and sell to their existing customers.
The number of independent agents using the industry-standard ECS Internet Solution increased by almost one-third in 2004, and the number of carriers offering ECS more than tripled, to 150. In total, more than 46,000 agent-carrier pairs communicate via ECS.
