Mark Ram named to Business Insurance’s prestigious list of industry leaders
This is the second “Top 40 Under 40” award Ram has received. Eighteen months ago, Mr. Ram was named to Canada’s Top 40 Under 40(tm) by The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business Magazine. Ram is the only individual in the property and casualty insurance industry to win that award since its inception in 1995.
“Our criteria were simple,” writes Regis Coccia, Editor, Business Insurance. “Anyone working in the commercial insurance industry doing an outstanding job of serving the buyers of risk and benefits management services was eligible for consideration. Among these executives are innovators, entrepreneurs, specialists and client advocates.”
According to Coccia, the 40 professionals named to the list come from all parts of the insurance industry, including insurers, reinsurers, retail brokers, wholesalers, consulting firms and law firms.
In addition, the list of 40 has international members. “If they share one trait, it’s that they all help demonstrate the global nature of the insurance industry,” continues Coccia. “The 40 hail from Bermuda, Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.”
“No company becomes a stand-out industry leader without the drive, dedication and perseverance of everyone on the team,” says Mark Ram. “It’s not me who has made Markel great. It’s each of our staff who has.”
