CarProof now includes Experian Automotive Vehicle History Data

London, Ontario – July 6, 2004 – CarProof.com, a leading provider of vehicle history reports for vehicles registered in any Canadian province or territory, today announced its relationship with Experian Automotive to integrate Experian’s comprehensive vehicle history data into CarProof’s vehicle history reports.

Experian’s National Vehicle Database includes over 20 billion records on 500 million vehicles in Canada and the United States. The database elements include odometer data from Canada and the U.S., dealer and 3rd party inspection data, U.S. accident data, and detailed state and provincial registration data.

CarProof.com is currently the only Canadian vehicle history reporting service that provides consumers, auto dealers, the insurance industry and financial institutions with a cross Canada vehicle lien report as well as a cross Canada registration report. CarProof reports identify in real time if the vehicle is registered as stolen, salvaged, rebuilt or non-repairable in any province or territory in Canada.

“Until now, car dealers, bankers, insurers and consumers had to search multiple sources if they wanted the whole story on Canadian vehicles,” said Ron Giblin, CEO of CarProof.com. “We believe that the partnering of Experian data with CarProof auto history reports gives anyone interested in Canadian vehicle history data, the value and power of two reports rolled into one.”

With the addition of Experian’s vehicle history data, CarProof is now able to provide customers with valuable information about vehicles with potential cross border histories or brands. The report continues to provide the essential real-time lien and registration data from every jurisdiction in Canada, and now also reports the important vehicle history data provided by the world’s largest relational automotive repository.

The new report prevents consumers from buying vehicles with undisclosed liens, rebuilt and salvage brands, as well as vehicles with inconsistent odometer data.

“We are excited to join CarProof in protecting Canadian consumers by providing valuable vehicle information,” said Scott Waldron, president of Experian Automotive. “This combination of data resources is the most effective way to deliver vehicle history reports to the Canadian market place.”
