Seeing Rapid Growth of New Sales and Conversions, Applied Systems Re-Brands ASP Products for Agents, Brokers

UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. (May 24, 2004) Responding to increasing demand from independent insurance agents and brokers for online agency management system services, Applied Systems has renamed the hosted environment versions of its flagship products.

The online eservices, which are hosted software in an application service provider (ASP), environment have been renamed TAMOnline and VisionOnline and can be reviewed at www.tamcentral.net. (The previous names were TAMCentral and VisionCentral.)

We want to offer agents and brokers choices in online and traditional management software, said Wayne Pardue, chief sales and marketing officer of Applied Systems, Inc. The ASP environment, however, reflects the fastest-growing segment of new sales. We see more agents and brokers moving from a LAN environment to the ASP for easy software updating, reduced hardware and maintenance cost, and excellent backup and disaster recovery options, he said.

Applied now has over 5,000 seats in the hosted environment on either TAM or Visionrepresenting one of Microsofts largest ASP customers, Pardue said.

Pardue said Applieds Internet data centers in the Chicago area, and its newest location in Dallas, all maintain high security standards developed by the American Institute of Public Accountants in its widely recognized Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70).

Applied is running in a Microsoft environment, Pardue noted. System uptime in the data centers has been 99.88% or better.

The Applied Online products will continue to be provided in tandem with the traditional TAM and Vision agency management software that Applied has supported for more than 20 years. We saw a need to create a clearer picture of what these hosted online products are and what they offer, said Pardue.
